Rachel McGuire

Integrative Psychotherapist

Rachel is a UKCP-registered Integrative and Transpersonal Psychotherapist at Sysi. With over 15 years of experience, her background extends beyond psychotherapy into the medical field, where she worked as both a general and mental health nurse. Her career has consistently centred around healing—initially through the body, then the mind, and now through an approach that integrates mind, body, soul, and wider systems.

Rachel works collaboratively with clients, tailoring her approach to meet individual needs, and draws on a range of evidence-based modalities—including Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Mindfulness, and Creative Visualisation.

Rachel has particular expertise in supporting individuals with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, self-harm, OCD, and low self-worth. She also works with a broad range of concerns, including health-related issues such as chronic and terminal illness, life transitions, relationship difficulties, infertility, parenthood, bereavement, identity issues, and experiences of physical or sexual abuse.

Rachel offers a warm, compassionate space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered. She believes in the transformative potential of therapy and gently encourages exploration and experimentation with more adaptive perspectives and behaviours—helping clients move towards greater resilience, meaning, fulfilment, and self-understanding.
